Bless the Lord, O My Soul~!

In this Sunday, the chancel choir lift up "Bless the Lord, O My Soul" as our anthem and the children's choir will praise "Magnificat anima mea Dominum" and " I will praise you" as our musical offering. Three songs have same theme "praise". One of privilege being His children is get to praise Him freely. When we praise Him, as I believe, all our concerns and all chains will be loosen. Praise has power to untie those bindings. Let's praise the Lord!

These are lyrics of our songs.

Bless the Lord, O My Soul by Joel Raney

Bless the Lord, o my soul, let all that is within me bless God's Holy Name. Bless the Lord, o my soul; and remember God's great mercy. Bless the Lord, o my soul; let earth and sky and heaven bless God's Holy Name. Bless the Lord, o my soul; and sing God's praise for ever. Bless the Lord whose almighty power renews our strength when hope is gone. Bless the Lord, whose abounding love can take an empty hear and fill it with a song! Bless the Lord, o my soul; let all that is within me bless God's Holy Name. Bless the Lord, O my soul; and remember God's great mercy. God from whom all blessings flow and sing God's praise for ever and ever. Bless the Lord, o my soul!!

Magnificat

Magnificat, Magnificat, Magnificat anima mea Dominum.(My soul magnifies the Lord)

I will praise You.

I will praise You, O Lord with all my heart. In everything I sing I will praise You, O Lord with all my heart. In the things that I do, in the words I say, I will praise You, O Lord with all my heart. I will serve You, O Lord with all my heart. In everything I do now I will serve You, O Lord with all my heart. In the things that I do, in the words that I say I will serve You I Lord with all my heart. Lord I will sing of Your goodness and grace. Lord, I will tell Your glory. Lord, I will love You and serve You more each day with all my heart, O Lord I give You praise.

In Remembrance

This Sunday is our first Sunday of February, and we will have Holy Communion. I always grateful that we have the Communion at least once a month. It is one of blessings that we are allowed to have a bread, and wine in Christ as one His family members. Have you thought about having this communion in one huge table that we all can sit at the same time? It might become true in heaven. I remember also Jesus washing his disciples feet at the communion table. Interestingly, I could imagine the scene like truly I saw before like a movie. I have prayed that we do remember His love and compassion through the Communion, we get rid of our prejudice and own thoughts toward others and accept as one family in Christ.

Here is the text of our anthem. Let's praise the Lord.

In Remembrance of me, eat this bread. In remembrance of me, drink this wine. In remembrance of me, pray for the time when God's own will is done.

In remembrance of me, heal the sick. In remembrance of me, feed the poor. In remembrance of me, open the door and let your brother in, let him in.

Take eat, and be comforted; drink, and remember too, that this is my body and precious blood shed for you, shed for you.

In remembrance of me, search for truth. In remembrance of me, always love. In remembrance of me, don't look above, but in your heart, look in your heart, look in your heart for God.

Do this in remembrance of me.

Do you hear God's voice through the song? I do. Let's have a communion in remembrance of Jesus.

Here I am Lord

This week, the chancel choir will lift up "Here, I am Lord" as our anthem. This song is well known and I love to lift it up as my personal promise to the Lord too. We could hear God's voice through the poem how much He loves us. Also, I always get in tears with the last phrase. " I will go Lord, if You lead me. I will hold Your people in my heart". What an honor that I can get to hold His people's heart! I have prayed that I will answer quicker to the Lord in this new year, saying " Yes, Lord! Here I am!!"

Refrain:

Here I am, Lord. Is it I, Lord? I have heard You calling in the night. I will go, Lord, if you lead me. I will hold Your people in my heart.

1. I, the Lord of sea and sky, I have heard my people cry. All who dwell dark and sin my hand will save. I, who made the stars of night, I will make their darkness bright. Who will bear my light to them? Whom shall I send?

2. I, the Lord of snow and rain, I have borne my people's pain. I have wept for love of them. They turn away. I will break their hearts of stone, give them hearts for love alone. I will speak my word to them, whom shall I send?

3.I, the Lord of wind and flame, I will tend the poor and lame, I will set a feast for them. My hand will save. Finest bread I will provide till their hearts be satisfied. I will give my life to them. Whom shall I send?

Let's lift up this song together as our love to the Lord this week!

New Year is started!

I am sorry that I haven't been able to update for Christmas and New Year. I had the busiest time with two long trips to Indiana and Dallas, TX.

I would like to share my resolutions for our music ministries in 2009. First of all, I would like to focus on prayer before we praise the Lord. For example, even though we have prayed regularly during rehearsals, I would like to pray more with our hearts. If we sing or play without our hearts, it would be nothing. I don't want that happen in 2009. Second, I would like to do my best for preparation. I will take attendance seriously because if we don't come to our rehearsal, there is no way to be ready to praise in any forms. Third, I would like to know everyone in the music ministries more personally. I will try to have a moment to meet every single person in person to share our requests and prayers. I have prayed that our music ministries may grow spiritually as well as musically together as one family in Christ.

The regular rehearsals will start on this Wednesday. The Youth handbell will be at 5:00, the children's choir will be at 6:15, and the chancel choir will be at 7:15. Also, the adult handbell will meet on Thursday at 5:30. On Sunday, the youth choir will meet at 4:00, the youth ensemble and the voice class will meet at 4:30.

My hearts have started pounding with excitements and expectation!

Let's praise the Lord! and make Him pleased!!

Westminster Carol

The chancel choir will lift "Westminster Carol" for this week anthem.
I will be in Indiana with my family to attend a graduation assessment during this weekend even though Jason and I have one more thing to complete the degree. The school allows doctorate students who passed all those qualifying exam to walk at the ceremony.

Gracefully, Sally Reeves will lead the music during the services. Thank you Sally!!

Here is the text of the carol. Let's praise with the choir on Sunday!

Angels we have heard on high Sweetly singing o'er the plains.
And the mountains in reply, Echoing their joyous strains.
Gloria, Gloria in excelsis Deo. Shepherds why this jubilee, Why your joyous strains prolong?
What the gladsome tidings be which inspire this heavenly song.
Gloria, Gloria in excelsis Deo.
Come to Bethlehem and see Him whose birth the angels sing;
Come adore on bended knee Christ the Lord the newborn King.
Gloria, Gloria, Gloria in excelsis Deo!

Child of God

This week anthem is "Child of God" written in American Folk Tune. I love this song singing during Advent or Christmas. The song made me sure my identity which is the happiest truth. Let's praise Him and tell people
"I am a Child of God!".

Child of God

If you anybody asks you who I am, who I am, who I am. If anybody asks you who I am, tell them I'm child of God.
Peace on Earth and Mary rocking the cradle, rocking the cradle, rocking the cradle,
Peace on Earth and Mary rocking the cradle, Christ Child was born in glory.
If anybody asks you who I am, who I am, who I am, If anybody asks you who I am, tell them I'm a child of God.
The little cradle rocks tonight in glory, tonight in glory tonight in glory, the little cradle rocks tonight in glory,
Christ Child was born in glory.
If anybody asks you who I am, who I am, who I am,
If anybody asks you who I am, Tell them I am a child of God.
DO you believe, a He was born in a stable, born in a stable, born in a stable, would you believe, He was
born in a stable, Christ Child was born in glory.
If anybody asks you who I am, who I am, who I am.
If anybody asks you who I am, tell them I'm a child of God.
If anybody asks you who I am, who I am, who I am.
If anybody asks you who I am! Tell them I'm a Child of God, Oh YEAH~!
