It has been a true blessing to serve at RHUMC.
I know... it is very hard to say Good bye but I have to.
I have prayed that God still pours out His Holy Spirit and fills everyone's heart with Him.
May the Lord be with you all! Thank you all for your support and prayers.

God Only
Today, August 8th, is my last Sunday at RHUMC.
It has been blessed three years! and I give thanks to the Lord that His faithfulness and blessings.
I have thought about the three years. It was not a long period of time for sure but there were lots of things within that short time.
I am grateful that I have been used as a tool by God to do His ministries at RHUMC. I have learned a lot how to serve Him, and others in Christ. And I am sure that He will teach and lead me more.
I have been praying for the next person for my position. People would say that it is not my business but I would like to keep on praying for the person as well as RHUMC if God leads me.
Also, I would like to keep in touch with brothers and sisters in Christ at RHUMC.
May the Lord continue blessing you all always with His abundant love and grace!
I will miss you all very much.

I am sorry...
I have not been able to update what we have been doing in our music ministries! Sorry!!
There was our VBS last week with 280 kids. I personally led "sing and play splash" station with dancing and singing. It was great fun!! I enjoyed a lot, and went to a vacation for four days at Washington DC. That is why I haven't updated!
We are singing "Seek to serve" as our anthem this week. It is a simple but inspiring song to share related to the sermon about "servant-ship."
As some of you know already, my last day at RHUMC will be on August 8th.
It was a true blessing that I got to work for the Lord in Praise and Pray ministries at RHUMC.
I believe that God's time in the church is near to the end. It was not an easy decision to make to leave wonderful extended family in Christ. However, you all will be in my prayer always.
I kneel and beg for God's mercy and grace upon RHUMC always that our church will be called "the house of prayer".
I am not sure how this blog will be continue. Thank you so much for visiting this blog. I know only few people visit sometimes.
I love you all deeply in Christ.

In Remembrance

It is already July! Time flies by too fast to feel it.
This Sunday is July 4th, and a communion Sunday. We will have a communion, and the choir will sing "In Remembrance" as an anthem.
The song has been sung often but always gives a deep inspire. Praying that everyone lifts hearts up to the Lord together humbly at the table on this Sunday.
In Remembrance of me, eat this bread. In rememberance of me, drink this wine. In remembrance of me, pray for the time when God's own will is done. In remembrance of me heal the sick. In remembrance of me, feed the poor. In remembrance of me, open the door and let your brother in, let him in.
Take, eat and be comforted; drink, and remember too, that this is my body and precious blood shed for you, shed for you.
In remembrance of me, search for truth. In remembrance of me, always love. In remembrance of me, don't look above, but in your heart, look in your heart, look in your heart for God. Do this in remembrance of me.

We have new pastors this week!
We will lift up "Amazing grace, my chains are gone" as our anthem this week related to the Scripture.
Let's lift up our hearts to the Lord!!

God so Loved the World

The chacel choir will lift up "God so Loved the World"as our anthem this week. It is based on the Gospel John 3:16-17.
This Sunday is Trinity Sunday, we will have a moment to think about our Father, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit. We will praise and worship Him with beautiful hymns! Come to the worship!
Here is the text of our anthem.
God so loved the world that He gave His only Son that whosoever believes in Him should not perish, but have eternal life.
God gave His only Son that whosoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life.
God did not send His Son to condemn a sinful world, but to save the world, to save the world.

Living Water, Guiding Spirit

Pentecost is this Sunday! Praying that our worship service are filled with the Holy Spirit like the upper room at the Pentecoast. The Holy Spirit is the Living Spirit. Let's seek Him with whole our hearts like a deer pants for water.
The chancel choir will lift up "Living water, Guiding Spirit" as our anthem, and the youth handbell will play "Remembrance" as their last piece before the summer break. Here is the text of our anthem.
Living Water, Guiding Spirit by Joseph M. Martin
Just as the deer longs for the water, my spirit longs for You. Just as the deer longs for the water, my spirit longs for You, my God.
Living water flow in me, refresh my soul with Your truth and grace. Make in me Your vessel pure, a heart to hold Your praise, a heart to hold Your praise.
Just as the wind blows through the forrest, move through my life today.
Just as the wind blows through the forrest, move through my life O Lord, I pray.
Guiding Spirit blw through me. Refresh my soul with Your truth and grace. Lift me up where eagles fly. Teach me a higher way, teach me O Lord, I pray.

Happy Mother's Day!

It is already May!
This Sunday is Mother's day. Even though we do not do much to celebrate during worship services, the children's choir will sing a special song for mothers. I pray that may the Lord bless all those mothers with His comfort, and love!!
Here is a cute and lovely lyric of the song.
Prayer for Mothers by Donna Butler
1. God bless the mother who sings to her child, peaceful and calm, her words soft and mild. God, bless the mother awake in the night, rocking her child 'till morning light.
2. God bless the mother forgiving and wise, sharing God's grace through the light in her eyes. God bless the mother oppresed by her fears, carried by faith till hope reappears.
Refrain: Gather all mothers in tender embrace. Grant them your courage, your wisdom and grace. Honor their place in your sacred design, of healing the world one child at a time.
Happy mother's day to y'all!

We pray May the Lord be upon us in worship when we lift up our hearts to Him.

I give my song.

This Sunday is our church family picnic! After 11:00 service, we will go to J. F. Gregory park for it. Please bring your family and friends~! As I heard, over 400 people always attened the picnic. I hope people come to the church first to lift their heart to the Lord in worship services on Sunday. Sadly, attending Sunday worship service seems not requirement to many Christians. I honestly could not understand about it as a Korean conservative Christian. The chancel choir will sing " I give my song" as our anthem this week, and the children's chimers will play "Simple gifts" at the second service as a special music.
Here is a lyric for the anthem. Wishing you all come to worship and fellowship at the park!
I Give My Song by Joseph Martin
What can I give to God my Creator? What can I do to show my love?
What can I give to my Lord and Savior? What can I bring? What can I bring?
What can I give to the Lord of creation? What do I have that's worthy of Him? What can I bring to the High Prince of heaven? What can I bring? What can I bring?
I can sing Alleluia, Lord, I adore You. All my days I can sing Your praise. I can give my song to You.
He fills my mouth with the joy of music, He fills my heart with the sounds of His love. He fills my life with the peace of His Spirit. Now I can sing, now I can sing. I can sing Alleluia. Lord, I adore You. All my days I can sing Your praise. I can give my song to You. I can give my song to You!

What Wondrous Love is This!

We are going to sing "What Wondrous Love is This" arranged by Lloyd Larson as our anthem this week. It is the same lyric of a hymn "what wondrous love is this" but a little bit different meoldy.
We can all have an intimate time to think about God's love through Jesus Christ during this Lent. Praying may the Lord bless us with His Holy Spirit that we all can feel His love deeply through this week worship.
The Inspi-Ringers will lift up a special song " Dearest Jesus" as our musical offertory.
Here is the lyric of our anthem.
What Wondrous Love is This, O My soul, o My soul; What wondrous love is this, O my soul!
What wondrous love is this that caused the Lord of bliss to bear the dreadful curse for my soul!
When I was sinking down, sinking down, sinking down; I was sinking down; sinking down.
When I was sinking down beneath God's righteous frown, Christ laid aside His crown for my soul!
To God and to the lamb I will sing, I will sing; to God and to the Lamb I will sing!
To God and to the Lamb, who is the great " I Am." while milions join the theme, I will sing.
When from death I' m free, I'll sing on, I'll sing on, and when from death I'm free, I'll sing on!
And when from death I'm free, I'll sing and joyful be, and through eternity I'll sing on!

And the Father will Dance, and Kyrie

It is our forth Sunday of Lent already. The lectionary reading is from Luke 15:11-32, a story about the prodigal son. As I shared in our Hill topper, our church news letter, it is always an amazing moment with the scene when the son comes back home, the father even did not put his shoes, just ran to his son, holding, kissing with joyful tears. Our Father in heaven sees us always with indescribable love. It will be a great moment to feel His love through the worship this Sunday. The chancel choir will sing "And the Father will dance" as our anthem related to the words.
The youth choir will sing "Kyrie" as our song for the offertory. Kyrie eleison, Christe eleison, Kyrie eleison: sung in the beginning of worship Mass in old church era. It means "Lord, have mercy, Christ have mercy." We all get to confess that we can't even live a second without His mercy, and love. May the Lord give us His mercy and love that we get closer to Him more and more especially in this Lent.

From an Upper Room
It is already March! This Sunday is our Communion Sunday. It is a very meaningful to serve the communion in Lent, and it is a wonderful opportunity to have a quiet time to think about Jesus' communion at the upper room during the passover. We will have a deeper moment to meditate about it on the Maundy Thursday but still it will be a special communion this Sunday. The chancel choir will sing " From an Upper Room" from our Lenten Cantata "The Lenten Sketches". We have been working on the cantata and this movement is about the Last supper of Jesus. It describes a vivid images of Jesus and his disciples. I pray that everyone will get to think about the last supper and have a moment to hear Jesus' voice of "it is my body and blood given for you" personally through this worship service.
The youth ensemble will praise at 11:00 service with a hymn " Standing in the need of prayer".
May the Lord use our music to glorify Him, and to share His presence to others!!
Nine of handbell ringers will attend the handbell workshop during this weekend at New Ebenezer. Please keep us in your prayer that we safely drive back and forth, learn and enjoy for glory of God!

We need You, Lord!

It is a good time to examine ourselves how we live as Christians during Lent. I have found myself how much I am centered in myself lately. Even though I pray, read, or those stuff everyday, God showed me that there are a number of times that I do them for myself, like Pharisees. I am thankful that I can confess my sins to my Lord who forgive my sins always.
The chancel choir will lift up an anthem "We need You, Lord" which was written in incorporating a hymn "I need Thee Every Hour." I need the Lord in every hour, every even second honestly. I pray that we all have some time to deny ourselves that our lives are not ours and confess that we need Him. Here is lyric of the song.
When the shadows appear bringing darkness, and despair, when our hearts are feeling lonely and no one seems to care;
When there's nowhere to turn, or we find we don't belong, Lord, speak to us, and comfort us, and help us to be strong.
We need You every hour to helo us find our way, to fill our lives with hope, to guide us through each day.
We need You, yes we need You, every hour we need You. O blessed Lord and Savior, we give our hearts to You.
When we're feeling afraid, and we want to turn away; When temptation overcomes us and makes us go astray; When we stumble and fall, or the signs of doubt set in, Lord, come to us, and walk with us, and help us start again.
We need You, yes we need You, every hour we need You. O Blessed Lord and Savior, we give our hearts to You. Lord, we give our hearts to You!
Let's give our hearts to our Lord!

Seek to Serve

Lent has started and this Sunday is our first Sunday at Lent. This week's scripture is from Luke 4:1-13 that Jesus went to the wilderness. I would like to start our Lent as a journey with Jesus, to walk with Him, to be nearer to Him, and to follow His step. This week anthem is "Seek to serve". Jesus showed how to live in this worldl; not as a master, but as a servant. We humble ourselves, rap His love around us to serve people, and serve God. This anthem is our prayer.
Seek to Serve
May I live in the world as one who always seeks to serve. May I live as one who knows the love of God.
Lord, teach me how to live and how to serve. With my ears may I hear. With my eyes may I see.
With my lips may I speak. May your Word be heard through me.
Thus as I live each day may love sustian the will to serve. Amen, Amen.
